My Childhood Dream of Love
''To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better for worse, for
richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish,
until death do us part. And the Lord in his goodness strengthened our
vow and filled us with his blessings and what he has joined, stands
undivided''.
Still so fresh like the early morning dew, we were both standing facing the alter on that magical and beautiful bright Saturday morning of Feb 11th, while family and friends from every walks of life gathered in excitement to witness and to celebrate a union of friendship. Time surely do have wings, but how she flies by so quickly, is still a puzzle...
Today will forever be remembered for a very special reason- the day God took time to ordain a beautiful union between an Angel and I, forever. Every day reminds me of God’s love, but days like today reminds me of how lucky I am. Despite my many inadequacies, God gave me the most wonderful person in the whole world- I call her the reality of my dreams, an angel like no other.
Looking back to the wonderful memories of how it all started always inspires my angel and I to dream about that amazing future that lies ahead. My kids and I would never have understood the true meaning of a young beautiful happy home without her selflessness as a mother. Truly, the saying that: “until a man finds his wife, he will not understand the true meaning of a blessing” is factual here. I will always and forever be grateful.
Yes! It has been five years already! Five good years!
On a wedding anniversary, some husbands dedicate a dinner table, some Facebook page, and others showers of gifts to their wife. I chose to keep it simple by combining all, yet it cannot measure up to the brightness she brought into my life. I will always and forever be gratefully indebted to her.
Like some of the good things in life, our union have been a collections of great memories to relieve till eternity, but we didn’t build it alone. God ‘dikwa’ involved. It has been a humbling love experience. Emily Thorn once wrote; “in a perfect union we find the strength we cannot find in ourselves’’. The angelic mother of my children, made me a better person by loving me for who I am.
Marriage is a beautiful gift from creation, like a box to be constantly filled with a mix of responsibilities that comes with great rewards as you stand by each other through thick and thin. You’re able to share your life with a wonderful person like my wife if you are lucky like me; who supports you no matter what. Sometimes there will be thick moments, but true love they say never dies, it must surely prevail all the time. Our love for each other have been tested over the years because we've been through the good and the rough yet stronger in love more than ever before.
I am excited to share with family and friends our young journey of love that is blessed with two adorable amazons. We are so proud and excitingly aspiring to be a better relationship role model to them.
Our anniversary message
is our own subtle way of expressing gratitude for the choice we made 5
years ago. My wish is that our anniversary message will inspires many
and reach those in struggle for love as a voice of hope. Keep fighting
for a good cause, because Love means everything! Love builds, heals and
inspires.
It’s our fifth wedding anniversary!
