It was a long weekend for some Florida residents especially those closer to the eye of the storm, to some this might be a once in a life time adventure getting to experience what a category 4/5 hurricane feels like, but to some it is not something they would want to ever experience. For others, it was anxiety driven but for us, it was mixed, regardless we had a chunk of fun, stayed at home all day for updates, off school, off work and enjoyed the curfew; restriction of movements while it all lasted.  Apparently, it was an opportunity for us to catch up with all the house chores we neglected but still we got to relax. We were hopeful while the short storm raged, we hoped for the best because we prepared for the worst, but it never came, and changed course that spared us all. Then o ur hope for the best paid off in the end. For some reason I woke up yesterday feeling so powerful. I couldn't understand the feeling until I realized it was actually my birthday! whatever that means. Yay! it was my second birthday! I felt so powerful perhaps because of the surprising early morning 'happy birthday' song by Nonyelum's choir group led by my adorable mom with my daddy and great grandma as members. Maybe because it was my day, maybe not, maybe because of milestones I accomplished. Maybe not. Regardless of the reason behind the feeling, I am sure I exceeded all my milestones and that alone could not have been more fun without growing older by a way of adding another year! Life is such an interesting phenomenon that most often never seems to firmly fit into any given square but keeps evolving. Few years ago, a maiden was said to be the most sought after by suitor in a small town called Nawgu as this maid fondly claims. Although, eventually married her first love and lived with him through all his struggles and adventures, until his sudden demise after over three decades of being together. Growing up, I recalled how the maiden from Nawgu will proudly tell her kids stories, of which coincidentally I am one them, but most often, she tells it to her daughters how elegant she was as a teenager and how her would be husband wrestled to win her heart and hand into marriage. They were all proud of her. There was no doubt about her inner and outer beauty, however her stories sank and lingered with a fiction of mental images of it all; Egoyibo as the most adorable maiden in that small town then, which was actually arguable or  perhaps with some bit of skeptic...

So many has happened within a very short period. I couldn't believe how fast I have accumulated many biological mileage. I have grown many teeth, walk, run, enrolled in preschool and now learning to speak and do some sign languages. Aside personal developments, I have had my first international flight experience to my motherland earlier this year at mere 7months to attend my grand dad's funeral. Although, that wasn't how I imagined my first visit to motherland, but fate made it so. The planning process involves a lot, like completing my immunization, having my international passport, and other paper and health work. Although, the travel itself was short, but the experience is amazingly remarkable. In few days AdaChijokx's will clock three months! How time flies is amazing! She now freely smiles, tries to pull up and respond to certain gestures, unlike few weeks ago when she only puts up smiley facial expression mostly when asleep. In fact, lately her hands are mostly open an indication that she's ready to reach out to the her caregivers and the world. Although she tries grabbing but coordination isn't good yet, but her gestures and grabbing seems automatic and instinctual, once she grabs there's no letting go :). Although she can't really grab objects well yet, even still, she struggles to locate her mouth when she wants to sooth her self with her fist.  Lately, we noticed  short periods of time when she is usually calm, quiet but alert.
