BIOLOGICAL MILES AND THE MOTHERLAND EXPERIENCE

Image
So many has happened within a very short period. I couldn't believe how fast I have accumulated many biological mileage. I have grown many teeth, walk, run, enrolled in preschool and now learning to speak and do some sign languages. Aside personal developments, I have had my first international flight experience to my motherland earlier this year at mere 7months to attend my grand dad's funeral. Although, that wasn't how I imagined my first visit to motherland, but fate made it so. The planning process involves a lot, like completing my immunization, having my international passport, and other paper and health work. Although, the travel itself was short, but the experience is amazingly remarkable. MY Mum and I~ On our 12hours Flight to Nigeria ME- So excited that I am traveling to the 'motherland' My Parent and Mr. Peter Obi (Former Governor of Anambra State) During our visit. My mum and I in our train heading to catch our flight to Orlando ...

SUPREMACY OF DIVINE PURPOSE

Image
Despite being a mere recreational shepherd, he became the greatest warrior of all time from his first battle! Despite being the least in his family, he was appointed and exalted above others by the Almighty God he serves! Despite the existence of a crowned king, he was anointed and crowned a King in the presence of another living King! Despite his iniquities, the holy scripture referred to him as "the Man after God's heart"! Despite his shortcomings, his offspring became the wealthiest man; mentally and materially that has ever lived! Despite all, Christ the Savior, the indomitable Champion! The Star of all ages! The life game changer! The unarmed Commander-in-chief that never lost a battle, The Prince of Favor! The perfect Judge! came from his root. Although, he wasn't perfect, but two things made him exceptional; obedience and purity of heart. Nothing he did was for show, but for pure purpose based on conscience and need. The Message: Simply be...

THE GREENER GRASS FROM THE OTHER SIDE.

"Biyi hasn't worked for that long?" Dupe's voice drips with resentment. "For real?" "He's been trying," I say in feeble attempt to defend my husband. "You know how the economy is." My husband and I had vowed never to bring in a third party into our relationship but with a bank account screaming for revival, I need to share my burden with someone else. I grip the phone. Dupe is unusually quiet. "You still there?" I asked. "Hello?" "I am here," she says. "I just didn't know things were this bad. And all this while, I thought Biyi was providing for the home." “But he is,” I argue silently. Well, maybe not financially for now, but in every way else, Biyi is a rock. "It's not that bad." My words sound frail. Dupe clucks her tongue. "You might as well be a widow." The words hit me like a fist. "Na you I blame," she continues, oblivious to the damage her words...

MILESTONES OF A WINNER

Image
In few days AdaChijokx's will clock three months! How time flies is amazing! She now freely smiles, tries to pull up and respond to certain gestures, unlike few weeks ago when she only puts up smiley facial expression mostly when asleep. In fact, lately her hands are mostly open an indication that she's ready to reach out to the her caregivers and the world. Although she tries grabbing but coordination isn't good yet, but her gestures and grabbing seems automatic and instinctual, once she grabs there's no letting go :). Although she can't really grab objects well yet, even still, she struggles to locate her mouth when she wants to sooth her self with her fist.  Lately, we noticed  short periods of time when she is usually calm, quiet but alert. According to some experts in newborn development, that is the  prime time for learning for newborns as baby's brains grows about 5 centimeters during first three months! Every moment becomes a  learning opportuniti...

ABUNDANCE OF TIME

Image
My weekend is over, but there wasn't time for fun!" This is a very common phrase most of us use daily but in reality most of our schedules are actually tight. But for real, are we actually time constrained? Or do we blow them out of proportion? I think time is actually in abundance but very volatile and irrevocable unless planned and managed.   Few years ago during my early career in banking, the chase for major business accounts was like a do-or-die marathon, there was no time for anything else except for the job, schedules and deliverable were crazy.I thought that was the height of crazy schedules until lately. I'm now married, moved to the States, doing two jobs six days per week (an average of 55hrs per week) and also completing my  prerequisites which is a two days per week class (an average of 12hours per week). This sounds crazy as if it is too much commitments, but it is not when compared to the abundance of 168hours we have available in a week. To un...

DEMOGRAPHY, RELIGION AND RAGE

What would have been my religious orientation assuming I was born in the part of the world where my current religious belief is a neglegible minority? This was a question I reflected upon years ago during my career in banking, but was later forgotten for good. Actually, the question popped up in my mind after we got an account of a popular telecom firm. Usually at the point of account opening all the people I have seen either check-mark Muslem or Christian as their religion but with this guys there was a trend change. Not even one director belong to any of our popular religion. This question best forgotten years back got woken by two young dudes I met at the grocery store last week Sunday. They walked up to me and we both introduced. At first I assumed they were freelance insurance guys, but after they asked me about my religious orientation my assumption changed. At that point, without any offense, I concluded they were Jehovah's witness. I was impressed seeing suc...

NIGERIA'S DECADES OF ECONOMIC HOSTAGE

Image
The culture of lawlessness, corruption and impunity has assumed a vast scale operation in our dear country Nigeria and her entire government sector. The latest is the incessant brutal terrorist attacks and kidnaps by the evil Bokoharam sect that is not based on differences in economic policies, but based on few selfish political and religious interests. We have been deceived for too long especially from the days of Military dictators and still in this present government both at state and federal level, while other developing economies around the globe are defying basic economic principles transforming and growing there real sectors. While our leaders focused more on manipulating the ideologies of Nigerians especially her youths by embellishing ethnic, regional and religious sentiments into their perceptual frame work which have prevented the youths from uniting to form a common front that will confront their economic wrecking activities of several decades. Nigeria's succ...
