THE JOURNEY TO THE LABOR ROOM


After thirty eight (38) weeks and five (5) days of living, feeding, kicking and peeing in mom's womb, AdaChijokx finally decided to show up. It all started on the morning of March 31st at about 10am EST while daddy was away. My kicks is usually felt by mommy intermittently from the womb, but this time, I kicked much harder on mom's amniotic sac covering me and the fluid leaked out gradually. That signaled to my would-be parents that I am ready to come out to embrace them and the beautiful planet earth.

To God be the glory!Finally, we made it as easy as the Hebrew women!


After several hours of waiting for the right amount of dilation, not until the next day at about 10:45am that mommy became fully dilated, and within few minutes at about 11:03am EST AdaChijokx was born weighing 8pounds12ounces and a height of 20.75inches. AdaChijokx was checked-out by two pediatric nurses and she passed all the medical examinations. In God we trust,to him be all the Glory

BIOLOGICAL MILES AND THE MOTHERLAND EXPERIENCE

So many has happened within a very short period. I couldn't believe how fast I have accumulated many biological mileage. I have grown many teeth, walk, run, enrolled in preschool and now learning to speak and do some sign languages. Aside personal developments, I have had my first international flight experience to my motherland earlier this year at mere 7months to attend my grand dad's funeral. Although, that wasn't how I imagined my first visit to motherland, but fate made it so. The planning process involves a lot, like completing my immunization, having my international passport, and other paper and health work. Although, the travel itself was short, but the experience is amazingly remarkable. POWERFUL FEELING OF BEING TWO

For some reason I woke up yesterday feeling so powerful. I couldn't understand the feeling until I realized it was actually my birthday! whatever that means. Yay! it was my second birthday! I felt so powerful perhaps because of the surprising early morning 'happy birthday' song by Nonyelum's choir group led by my adorable mom with my daddy and great grandma as members. Maybe because it was my day, maybe not, maybe because of milestones I accomplished. Maybe not. Regardless of the reason behind the feeling, I am sure I exceeded all my milestones and that alone could not have been more fun without growing older by a way of adding another year! Yes! a day to celebrate just me, I guess that's what birthday means.
